Service Families Accommodation - Charges On Move Out

Charges for damage and deficiencies for SFA and Substitute SFA recovery from pay

When you move out of UK service family accommodation (SFA) or substitute service family accommodation (SSFA), you may be liable for charges for damages or deficiencies that are not classed as fair wear and tear or because you have failed to prepare the property to the correct standard, for example cleanliness.

DIO can take these directly from the pay of serving personnel. Any payments taken depend on the size of the charge and individual monthly income (using MOD guidelines to ensure that deductions do not exceed a set limit of pay).

If you consider that you are not responsible for the charges, or part of them, for example that the damage is the result of fair wear and tear,you are able to dispute the charge raised using the ‘Disputed charges form’.

INtouch mail service for UK armed forces personnel: service guide

The INtouch system replaced the e-bluey service on 1 April 2017.
INtouch messages are alternatives to Forces Free Air Letters (FFALs), known as ‘blueys’, and are also free to send.
The service allows users to upload letters, photos and documents via the internet, which are then securely printed and sent to their recipient.

Bovington Army Cadet Force

Bovington Army Cadet force meets every Monday and Thursday evening between 7.30pm – 9.30pm in the Reservists Centre, RWxY Building Allenby Barracks.

New members are always welcome, come along and see what we do. Cadets help get teenagers off the streets and do something positive, achieve goals, keep fit, meet challenges and socialise with other people. You will become more disciplined and have more control over yourself.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award improves your skills, talents and fitness as well as helping you get a good record on your CV for the future. Altogether cadets will inspire you to do something good for yourself.

As well as a wealth of information about funding, careers and employment, registration provides beneficiaries with a personal account with access to several interactive services such as an online CV builder, thousands of current job vacancies, funding such as The Royal British Legion Employment Support Grant Scheme and a mentoring service.
